Redefining What is Possible


TD Global Investment Solutions (TD GIS) is part of TD Bank Group, whose own history dates back more than 150 years. Our story brings together three decades of investment experience. Over that time the investment landscape, investor needs and our range of offerings have evolved and expanded.  In 2013, TD Bank Group, which already operated an asset manager, TD Asset Management, acquired Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. (TD Epoch) to introduce a broader range of global and U.S. active fundamental equity solutions guided by a highly respected investment team. Five years later, Greystone Capital Management Inc. was acquired and integrated into TD Asset Management, to offer greater access to alternatives, including real estate, infrastructure, and commercial mortgages. What has remained consistent is our focus on partnering with our clients to achieve their needs:

TD Asset Management USA Inc. begins to operate in the United States through Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. TD Asset Management ranked #2 Canadian Asset Manager based on AUM

TD Asset Management Inc. integrates with TD Greystone Asset Management to offer its clients greater access to alternatives, including real estate, infrastructure, and commercial mortgages. TD Asset Management ranked #1 Canadian Asset Manager based on AUM. Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. opens its Melbourne, Australia office.

2017

Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. acquires the assets of Institutional Capital (ICAP). TD Asset Management ranked #1 Canadian Asset Manager based on AUM Chicago, USA office opens

Emerging Markets equity strategy launches to capitalize on opportunities in developing markets. First Collective Investment Trusts (CITs) launch in the U.S.

2016

Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. opens its London, UK office.

Non-U.S. Choice strategy is acquired from Institutional Capital (ICAP). London, UK office opens. Co-CIOs Bill Priest and Mike Welhoelter and Portfolio Manager Steve Bleiberg publish Winning at Active Management The Essential Roles of Culture, Philosophy, and Technology.

2014

China Income & Growth strategy launches to offer Institutional investors exposure to opportunities in the world's second largest economy.

Non-U.S. Shareholder Yield strategy launches.

Global Infrastructure strategy launches open-ended mid-market global fund investing in key infrastructure sectors including renewable energy, power, and transportation assets that generate enhanced long term, contractual cash flows and inflation protection.

2013

TD acquires Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. to introduce a broader range of global and U.S. active fundamental equity solutions guided by a highly respected investment team.

Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. launches its first UCITs funds available within Europe. Global Quality Capital Reinvestment strategy launches to focus on companies that effectively reinvest their capital creating value for their shareholders.

Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. forms in New York.

2003

Greystone Capital Management Inc. opens its Toronto office.

2000

TD Asset Management Inc. grows its business in Canada amalgamating with CT Investment Management Group Inc, Greydanus, Boeckh & Associates and Harbour Capital Management Inc.  Greystone Capital Management Inc. becomes an employee-controlled holding company, and the operating entity comprises Greystone Managed Ltd. and Mentor Capital, plus the investment management functions formerly held by Greystone Capital.

1990s:

1999

Greystone Managed Investments acquires the assets of Mentor Capital Management and opens its Winnipeg, Canada office

1996

TD Asset Management Inc. acquires AMI Partner's Inc., enhancing their ability to deliver state-of-the-art indexed, quantitative, and structured solutions to Canadian clients.

1995

Greystone Managed Investments acquires Edmonton-based Managed Investments Ltd. 

1994

Investment Corporation of Saskatchewan firm receives a new moniker, Greystone Managed Investments. 

1993

TD Asset Management Inc. forms in Toronto, Canada and offers fundamental strategies through its amalgamation with Lancaster Investment Counsel Inc.

1980s:

Our alternative assets platform is established with the management of Canadian private real estate and commercial mortgage offerings.

The Investment Management division is created within Toronto Dominion Securities Inc.
